Looks like Kyle has made it to Camp 2 at around 25,500 feet. Still no word on whether the ropes have been fixed but I assume Kyle is following closely behind the rope fixing team and will be looking to summit late Thursday night (early Friday morning for him). Climbers from the South Side have been reaching the top for almost a week now but the North Side almost always has later summit dates and there is still plenty of time.
If he moves up to Camp 3 tomorrow, then there is almost a 100 percent chance of his summit day beginning late tomorrow night and nearing the top in the early A.M. Friday. Only under extreme circumstances do you stay longer than 24 hours at or above Camp 3.
Unfortunately he is at the mercy of the Chinese rope fixing team, so he can only move as far as they do but the good news is that he's on the move!
