Many of you may have noticed that Kyle's tracker does not appear to be moving. I heard from him today, and there is a good reason for it. Apparently, the individuals responsible for putting the ropes up on the north side of Everest have not been able to accomplish it. The ropes are necessary to summit. While there have been several people that have already summited from the south side, no one has been able to make it from the north side because of the lack of ropes. Believing the delay to be hopeless, several teams have already given up and gone home. Kyle and his team are going to wait five more days before they decide what they are going to do. As you can imagine, Kyle is both furious and frustrated to get this close and then have his goal possibly thwarted. (Sitting here typing this, I am more than a little annoyed as well. I would like to see Kyle's dream realized!) On the positive side, Kyle is feeling strong and well rested as he waits at Advanced Base Camp. Pray for a rope miracle!
